Wait till you read this!Mar 12, 2010 Wow. I couldn't wait for this opportunity. I was going to BAD MOUTH this one into the ground. It wasn't throwing a very large circle of light...you had to point right at what you wanted to see and I was MAD! Well, I gave it one more shot...three weeks later, with some new batteries. YEOW, I can SEE! I tried the same batteries in my old $20 flashlight. Uhh, was the price worth the difference? Maybe, kinda. Thus, A 4 star. For my next adventure, I think I'll try the Fenix TK40 High Performance Cree LED Flashlight, Maximum 630 Lumens. If something better is out there, someone please let me know.
Great productMar 03, 2010 This light stays on my side daily. I am a Plumber by trade and often need a light to look under sinks or in a crawl space. The size of this light is perfect. I have had many small flashlight in the past but there are none that compare. The versatility is unbelievable. From 9 lumens to 180 lumens. This light on it's brightest setting will shine into the tops of trees better than any typical hunting light. This light Compares well to the more expensive surefire flashlights. The best thing is it uses AA batteries instead of the expensive lithium batteries. I would definitely recommend this light.
Great light for it's size!!!!Feb 28, 2010 I liked this light so much ,I have ordered the TK 40 model. I use them to see what is on my property at night, especially armadillos tearing up my lawn. They are hard to see at the far edge of my lawn, but with these light I can stand on the front porch and see them. There is no comparison between these lights and a standard flashlight. With the bright white light you can see clearly what is roaming around, even if it is not destructive .
The one thing that could be improved is the life of the batteries(but I do use it at the max power most of the time) So as the old saying goes you can't have your cake and eat it too!!! And one other thing I like about the models I have
purchased ,they use AA batteries, which are available at most stores. And less expensive than the batteries of other models.

It's not easy to get 5 stars from me.Feb 27, 2010 As the title states, I don't just give 5 stars to anything. In my opinion way too many products get a 5 star rating when it should be a 4. That being said this is one of the few products that I own (in any category) that I would give a five star rating to. Before getting to my reasons, let me just say that I am a Streamlight man; or better yet, I WAS a Streamlight man. Please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that Streamlight flashlights are bad products, in fact I think that they are very good lights. However in every area that Streamlight is good, Fenix is better. An example of this is the Streamlight Stinger LED vs Fenix LD 20. The Streamlight costs at least $50 more, it isn't as bright, it is bigger, it doesn't use AA (which in my opinion is a disadvantage, when I am camping I can't recharge my Stinger, but I can pop in AA batteries), and it doesn't have as useful operating modes. Again the Stinger is a fantastic light, just not as good as the LD 20. Well I have pontificated enough...
Here are the reasons that I gave the Fenix LD 20 5 stars:
Durability- This flashlight can be abused and keep on ticking.
Waterproof
Brightness- 180 Lumens is awesome!
Different Operating Modes- 6 different modes: Turbo, High, Med, Low, SOS, Strobe. Having 9 lumens available is just as important as having 180 available. Very useful for checking maps at night when no red lens is available. All of these modes are easy to cycle through. Don't let them intimidate you!
Cost- 50 bucks. Unbeatable. Enough said.
AA Batteries- Available and cheap.
Size- Fits in your pocket
Ergonomics- Great grip and great button. Easy to hold.
Accessories- This has some great accessories available for it such as a red lens filter, a light diffuser, an orange traffic wand attachment. (Okay so that last one isn't that useful, unless you're a cop).
There is more that can be said about this great little light. This review isn't meant to be all inclusive.
When I got this light in the mail I didn't want to like it. Liking it meant I may have to give up on my beloved Streamlight. Well not only do I like it. I love it. It is without a doubt the best light I have ever owned. Period.
