Great Light!Jun 27, 2007
By RockLobster This is a fantastic light in terms of light output, features and price. I purchased the natural finish and out of the box it functions as advertised. The package comes with a lanyard, spare o-rings, holster (nice for extra protection of the lens and body) and spare tail button. It did not come with batteries. It is definitely bright and quite impressive light output at the turbo mode (advertised 160 lumens). The other light output levels can be operated by "tapping" the tail switch, really a nice feature as it saves battery life. Twisting the lens head and battery compartment to tightness gets you the the 160 lumens mode. This is a portable light (no bigger than a large swiss army knife), lightweight and highly pocketable and the aluminum body o-ring seal tail cap makes it tough and weather proof. It is a little cooler than my three watt Luxeon (Rock River @ target) when being on for some time at the turbo mode.
This is what I wished it had: I wish it had a pocket clip so it stays stationary in my pocket and will act as an attachment point for a hat, belt or shoulder strap. I wish the tail cap switch was soundless when turning it on. The clicking kinda gives your position away uneccessarily.
This is the light that I bring for camping, day hikes and travel if I only had to room for one.

Another Winner from Fenix !Jun 03, 2007
By jr_Tech The Cree emitter used in this flashlight is nearly twice as efficient as older style LED emitters, this results in brighter light output and/or longer runtimes on a set of batteries. The P3D-CE offers enough modes so that both ends of the equation come into play. In "Turbo" mode, 160 lumens of brightness is obtained... incredible! In "General" mode, brightness as low as 9 lumens (which is just fine for a dark adapted eye) with a run time of 65 hours can be selected. Six "modes" of operation allow considerable flexibility.
Cr-123 batteries can now be found at reasonable prices on-line, (sometimes as low as a buck or two ea). The energy density of the Cr-123s (in addition to the Cree emitter) is an important factor in producing a flashlight that is this compact, with the great brightness/long runtime properties.
The P3D-CE is also available in "natural" finish... very good looking!

Nice lightOct 10, 2008
By Ted87 Pros: Nice construction, like the multiple levels, very bright with way better run times than more expensive flashlights (SureFire g2, im looking at you)
Cons: The half button push to change the mode is very sensitive and sometimes switches when i don't want to. Also there seems to be no appreciable difference between the general mode high setting and the turbo setting. I'm getting a flicker(which i think is the low battery warning) on both those settings so i think it may be the batteries i used.
Edit: Got some surefire batteries and the flicker went away.

Amazingly bright and compact lightNov 09, 2007
By Todd W. Quigley Half the size of my Surefire and at least twice as bright, plus it runs for hours and hours compared to the 50-60 minutes I get from the Surefire and has several levels of brightness. Build quality is very good, not everything made in China is junk. If it had a clip, it would be perfect. Silly not to buy re-chargeables for it, on the other hand it is silly to not buy re-chargeables for anything. All in all, an amazing little light, definitely the best deal for the money, and maybe the best period. I will get another for the car.

By Sean D. Reeves The light is very bright and casts pretty well. The transition from spot to flood is very smooth and the batteries last much longer than expected!
