Compact, bright and long lasting. Need I say more?Dec 17, 2008 I bought this to replace an old 2 AA cell Maglight that got lost. Originally I wanted a 2 AA cell flashlight but after reading up on the Cree-LED based flashlights I thought I could risk getting a 1 AA cell unit. I haven't regretted it. This is a very bright flashlight and lasts quite a long time on that single AA cell. What's more, the brightness can be adjusted in a nearly continuous range so that you have just the brightness level you need for the job at hand. This is important as with these LEDs, you can have too much light, which is not a problem with that old Maglight.
One small downside I just fixed: it is round, so it will roll away on sloping surfaces. However, I got a clip from a different vendor and that fixed the problem.

State of the ArtAug 04, 2008 If you look into the world of today's high tech flashlights, this one is one of the most highly regarded. Easy to use, many settings and very powerful. This one uses the AA battery and its brother the EX10, uses a CR123A. The CR123A is much preferable to the alkaline AA, but isn't as easily found and can be pricy. The lithium AA is powerful, but a bit pricy.
